What is "Obama Care"

Officially known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly called the Affordable Care Act (ACA), it is the federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23rd, 2010. What is Covered California?

Covered California is the is the California run Health Exchange Marketplace where individuals can shop and compare the different plans offered by health care providers as well as check their eligibility for premium assistance to help reduce the cost of those plans. The health insurance plans offered through Covered California are the same plans offered by the providers directly, but it is only through Covered California that you can see if you can qualify for the premium assistance. You can apply for Covered California plans by enrolling yourself online or by paper application, calling them directly, or applying with the help of a Certified Enrollment Councilor or Certified Agent.
